Mid-Layer

A mid-layer is an item of clothing that goes between the base layer you wear next to your skin and your waterproof or water-resistant outer layer to capture warmth through trapped air. A mid-layer can come in all shapes and sizes, it can be long-sleeved technical tops, fleece jackets, down jackets, sweaters or anything that helps to keep you warm while on the move.
